Phil Elam began his creative artistic journey as a student of classical piano at the age of 6.  His musical studies carried him to Interlochen.  It was at the musical Academy that he participated in a theatrical production, just for fun.  Upon returning home Phil continued his classical piano training but also decided to enter, and went on to win, a couple of Forensic Festivals in the category of Dramatic Interpretation.

Phil Elam credits his success in film to his work on the stage.  The help, guidance and lessons of so many people have helped mold his skills.  The most impactful has been several conversations we was blessed to have with the great Mr. (Sir) Sidney Poitier.
